We were hoping to have travelled down through the French canals last year but due to work, houses, family.........etc. had to postpone starting until 2009. Katlen our 1994 Moody 35 is currently on the side in Gosport boatyard in Portsmouth Harb

our. We spent last year between here and
Royal Clarance Marina nearby, together with travelling to and from our house in Spain. Sitting on the side has given us the chance to carry out (maybe even finis

h) all those little jobs that need doing. The one I relish least is replacing the seacocks, two of which have seized in the open position. I am also hoping to replace the fridge setup with one that is cooled by the sea and not just air - which (hopefully) will be nice and warm when we get to the Med. There are a lot of other small jobs not least completing the soundproofing in the engine compartment (see picture of work in progress opposite, the black stuff is the original foam soundproofing) and fitting my EBay bargain snap davits for the dinghy.
